The Trotta family launched MuseumWayPearls.com, a Boston, Massachusetts-based pearl jewelry company in 2005. The company was founded after a trip overseas to the Hongqiao pearl market in Beijing, China. A few strands of pearls were purchased at unbelievably affordable prices. Upon returning to the United States the pearl jewelry was valuated at Boston's Jewelry Exchange by a professional G.I.A. Certified pearl jewelry appraiser. The results of the appraisal were astonishing and the pearls were worth significantly more than the purchase price.

As a result of this information, the ideas started flowing. What if the pearls could be imported and sold online to the thousands of people looking for them every day? Certainly customers would enjoy paying a fraction of what they would pay for the same pearl jewelry they could buy in a retail jewelry store?  Fast forward six years, countless jewelry shows, new supplier relationships, hundreds of happy customers, a new brand, a new website, and thousands of hours trying new ideas, and here we are today, still going strong.
