While we mostly focus our blog on pearl jewelry I can came across a site featuring this pearl-embellished dress and could not resist sharing it with my fellow pearl-lovers.
It is your classic little tank black dress accented by a pearl bib. Designed by Thai brand Sretsis (FYI: that is sisters spelled backwards), it can be purchased at BlueTree.com for $675.
The best part is the bib is detachable … not exactly sure how that works, but the pearls could look great on other tank tops and dresses as well. Photo from BlueTree and please visit BlueTree or Sretsis for more information on this piece.

We just got a great mention on TolietPaperEntrepreneur.com blog. When
asked what lesson we learned from the recession, MuseumWayPearls.com responded:
Maintaining High Quality
“We’ve maintained the highest quality pearl jewelry and craftsmanship in our products as we know our customers trust that about us and will keep coming back. I think many entrepreneurs who decided to skimp on quality ingredients/products to save money during the recession will find they lose many customers. “

While many people often do not associate pearls with men’s jewelry, we’ve actually noticed many great pieces out there these days for men.
Some of our favorites include Pearl Paradise’s 11mm-12mm AAA Tahitian pearl pendant on a leather string. It is a stunning piece of pearl jewelry that can be worn by a man or a woman and was highlighted at the most recent Academy Award’s Luxury Lounge.
We also love pearl cufflinks by Italian jewelry designer Valentina Stammelluti. Featuring hand carved mother-of-pearl; these pearl cufflinks add a layer of sophistication to any French Cuff shirt.
Museum Way Pearls does not offer men’s pearl necklaces or pearl cufflinks on our website, but we can always have our designers create men’s pearl pieces by special order. Just contact Museum Way Pearls with any men’s pearl jewelry inquires.

On a recent vacation to Las Vegas we were horrified to see a woman dunk
underwater in the pool with a strand of saltwater Akoya pearls around her neck. Do not do that! That is a great way to ruin a pearl necklace! We have a comprehensive section on caring for pearls, but with the warm weather rolling in across the country, here are a few things to remember about caring for your pearl jewelry:
Do not wear your pearl jewelry during a workout
Sweat contains acids, which over time may harm your pearls. In addition to stripping nacre from the surface of the pearls, sweat can also cause the drill holes where the silk is knotted together to enlarge. These are both deterrents to extending the life of your pearl jewelry.
Do not bring your pearls to the pool
We recommend avoiding wearing your pearl jewelry to the beach or to the pool. Although water in its simplest form will not harm pearls, chlorine and other chemicals in a pool, and anything that may be found in saltwater could potentially damage your pearls. We also recommend you do not wear your pearls in Jacuzzis, saunas and steam rooms.

The Emirates Palace Hotel in the UAE capital is hosting an exhibit that will feature one of the biggest pearls in the world.
The previously unnamed pearl, right, now goes by Danat Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation and weighs in at 856.58-carats (10.2 centimeters long and has a circumference of 15.2cm). It is about two times as large as the Hope Pearl and weighs around 11 carats more than the Burma Pearl.
The Mother of the Nation pearl is positioned in a historic gold torso of a centaur, a half-man, half-horse being from Greek mythology. It is on display next to many famous pearls of the world that are part of the Natural Pearl Display, a permanent exhibition at the Emirates Palace Hotel.
